My lovely Charlie Brown drowned this afternoon in my sister-in-law's swimming pool. They knew right from the beginning that one of the biggest causes of death for dogs is covered swimming pools and they were so, so careful but while Karen was in work this morning, the cleaner let him out.

My niece and nephew had waited years for a dog and he was a surprise for them. They are devastated, as are we.

He was 14 weeks old.
