The best thing to do is get yourself a CD with firework noises on it and play it every day for about 5 minutes and your Lab will soon take no notice of them ..... there is loads of potions but none really work ..... waste of money TBH with you ..... thats my opinion though

Hi;
We have the tape and use it, we have also purchased DAP diffuser.
They were both tiny puppy,s this time last year. Really hoping they are
not too distressed.

Hi Trisha,

I swear by Bach Flower Rescue Remedy Smile

I give my Sherpa 4 drops and it works wonders Smile ....I also give myself 2 drops ( just in case it's me bieng over anxious to start with Wink )

What I do know is that since giving Sherpa the Rescue remedy he handles fireworks going off much better than he did before Wink .....So I am a convert....because it's easy for me to think " it's hoccum" but after I saw the difference it made to my boy ( who hated fireworks ! ) I'm amazed at the difference it has made to him Very Happy

It's worth a try Trisha Smile

We use DAP diffuser - set it up 1-2 weeks prior to fireworks going off, Bach Rescuse remedy and black out curtains, and music (loud) during firework nite as Barney(he is a resuce dog) gets so stressed Sad Cool these help alot but also found last year doing some clicker training during the noisiest part worked really well as he focussed on us not the noise outisde Laughing Laughing

If they were around firwork nosies as pups last year then in theory they will have been socialised to the noise.
Remember labs are gundogs so not naturally fearful of loud noises.

Try to stay calm and give no reaction to any worried looks or body language, use the tape as practice beforehand.

Basil comes out and enjoys watching the big firework displays as we see them from our terrace Smile
