Bosun is 5 months old, and yesterday we went out for the day so left him at my In-Laws and think he spent the day running round playing in the garden, he didnt have a walk ...

anyway we got back and he was fine! ... got him home and he sempt to have a slight limp on his Front Right Leg! ... hes still limping ... hes not whining and ive rubbed my hand up and down it checked the pads etc and hes not wincing or anything

Im worried! ... should i go to the vets in the morning?? not sure what to do ! Confused

Are you sure he aint pulling the 'guilt trip on mum ' routine for leaving him ? Wink
Have you tried pressing on the pad and between the pad lightly to see if he has any pain there ?

If he were mine and not in obvious pain I would just make him rest for the night ( maybe confine him to a small room with food and water close to his bed and see how he is in the morning .
Our old girl (13 now ) has had limps now and again thoughout her life and mostly only last 24 hours or less ,they get aches and srains just the same as us Wink

Hi Kirsty,

He may have just pulled a muscle or sprain something.........I'd rest him and restrict the kiddies from playing with him for a good 24-48 hours, if he is still sore on Tuesday, then take him into the Vet for a check-up, don't let him run around and pop him out for toilet on the lead.........

Of course, if he appears to be getting worse then take him off to the Vet sooner........hope he's better soon

XXXX

Paranoia gets like that doesn't it? Or is it just me? Hehehehe.

Limps can be caused by all sorts of things though. Apart from anything, he's still growing, and if he's like any other animal he'll be growing at different rates in different places, it could be as simple as he's had a bit of a leggy growing time.

Keep us updated though?

He certainly has the age for growing pains.
Just observe carefully (is he licking his paw, and where. That usually tells you a lot).
I agree what others said to give him rest (if needed force it on to him putting him in a crate).

Do you need to worry less about a front leg limp rather than a back leg limp?

Ruby has had a limp on and off her front right leg as well after she's had a whale of a time somewhere, but with rest for a few days it goes away. I of course continue to monitor her in case it turns into something extreme, but I don't think it's anything to be concerned about at this stage *crosses fingers*

How is Bosun this morning?

I can imagine how worried you are, I find myself watching Bailey's backend all the time, just checking for limps or different movements. Paranoid or what???

The advice you have had seems good, and if he is not in pain that is a good thing Very Happy

You wish that they wouldn't bounce around so much don't you, I'm sure Bailey thinks she is a cat sometimes Laughing
