Congrats, this will be a long hard job with 12 with quite a lot of supplementing from you, i know you have a good mentor if I remember but do ask anything you like. Remember to rotate them rather than letting them all feed at once if you can to give everyone a level playing field. I would also ask your vet to get in intravenous calcium supplement liquid too.... he may have it there but if not order it in, when you need iot, IF you need it, you need it IMMEDIATELY and a vet saying 'ohhh that will be a 24 hour order lead time can give you heart failure!
I hope not but.... such a large litter may well result in eclampsia striking even just mildly later on when demeand for milk is at its highest just before you start weaning, which, with 12, will probably be no later than about the 2 and a half weeks stage or so....
Huge congrats and good luck....

Thanks Di, had thought about eclampsia too with being so many! I will give the vet a ring to make sure!

Nice one. I've needed it three times with three different bitches here and the first time I had to drive 50 miles to get hold of some fast.... I never let them have it out of stock after that even to the point, with one horrible practice I soon left, I had to pay for it even if I didn't use it for them to hold it in stock....but the peace of mind with a big litter was worth it.
