Lucy thank you for your email. My computer has packed up and is refusing to send email replies today despite kicking it round the room (or possibly BECAUSE of...)

Hope you don't mind me replying here I'm sure there is no conflict or private ness attached to my answer.....

Chances are her parents, who as you say are both Clear, were tested before the mandatory publishing of results came in a couple of months back, and the breeder has not submitted them to Gary independently so the KC is unware of the dogs being tested and therefore that shines through on Rias papers not showing her 'clear by parentage' status.

Very few have - in comparison to how many have actually tested - submitted their 'pre mandatory publication' results to Gary so this is not unusual in any way.

You can either encourage the breeder to do so, wait a little while then order a new reg certificate for Ria. Or..... well I can't actually think of an 'or'...... because the KC will, rightly, only declare clear by parentage if both parents have been submitted rather than taking anyones word for it if they own what is a clear by parentage dog.

As you rightly say, for Rias eventual pups to show as clear by parentage themselves (in you using a CBY or tested Clear dog) you need to get that Clear by parentage status recognised by way of HER parents at the KC first.

good luck Wink Sorry again, I really can't get any emails to go out....

Di

Laughing Thanks Di. Nope, no privateness at all - the more people who know about Optigen the better hey?!

After all that, I should have read her papers better - I saw "UNAFFECTED by...." and the list of conditions covered by the paper eye cert (of which Ria holds too so it says that under her KC/BVA schemes bit also) and just presumed it was their Optigen results Rolling Eyes Just didn't click that Optigen would be under DNA. - I think I was just far too excited that she ACTUALLY belongs to ME Shocked Wink

So thanks again Ms Optigen Queen. Hope it helps others too.

Hang on, so I have to ask her breeder to let the KC know about her parents? What does she need to send them?

Well to have her Clear by parentage status logged her parents will need to go on file yes.

Lynne will need to send them each parents details, sire, dam, date of birth, date of test, result of test and the Optigen number designated to that dogs results. They want ideally a scan or copy of the Optigen certificate sent or the email sent with the inital result on it from optigen.

So basically just the proof the dog was tested and was clear.

Next time I see Lynne I'll ask her about it - I don't *think* she is online but Sharon who owns Ria's auntie is and I know she comes here sometimes, so maybe she'll nudge Lynne as well Wink No rush though I suppose, we have a year yet Very Happy

Thanks both Smile
