Have just ordered the removal tool - thanks for this.

I agree this should be stickied. And especially for folks that go camping (as well as for working dogs) as they might not think about it.

I have just read this post and followed the link for BADA UK - very interesting and informative. I have also ordered the O'Tom tick twister!! I must admit I am going to be a lot more vigilent in checking Poppy for ticks after her off lead walks in the woods!!! And especially when we take her to France later in the summer.

We took one off our new pup yesterday. They show up quite quickly on black labs, before getting too big, they look like a small seed caught in the fur. Removal is not easy to do on a pup with the wriggling, but O Tom removers work well. We drop the tick into a small plastic bag and then squish it before disposal.
