Hi all,
Sasha is going through the mill again, but this time with her left front leg, she has been limping on her front left paw/leg for about 4 weeks now and has been to vets twice for Rymadil (spelling) anti-inflamitories, but no improvement, so on friday she is to be sedated and x-rayed from the shoulder down to her paw, the vet said they couldn't find anything obvious when she felt her leg and shoulder on the first visit eg sprain or muscle problem,
so we are faced with x-rays and not too sure what they could show up, fingers crossed nothing too serious.
after the pyometra and the injested stone, poor thing doesn't need much more, bless her, plus she's only 17 months old my insurance is going to be battered again

thank you,,, it's actually hard to stop her running now,,,,bless she runs round the garden puffs herself out then comes hobbling in, the nurse said to us, she's so bouncy, there is no point in trying to restrict her movement coz it wouldn't work, she's too hyper!! it's awful to see her limping all the time, but hopefully we will know more soon x x x
It's a difficult one isn't it? I hope the x-rays show nothing sinister..............I had to crate rest Izzy to stop her being a looney when she tore her CL.......It wasn't easy, but she adapted to it within a couple of weeks....she spent 5 months in there
poor babe 5 months, i can't imagine having to do that with either of my two,,, and if i had to i don't know if i would have room for a crate not now she is full size,
bless her every time she gets up or walks you can see she's hurting,
what's CL??? sorry thicko here!!!
i'm not sure what an x-ray will show or what it wont
It was hard, although she was used to being crated at night........she was still a puppy at the time.....7.5 months old, so she spent her birthday in there too, we did put up a puppy pen too so she could, towards the end of her rest period, move around a little more.
I'm pleased I persevered, as I'm sure it has made all the difference to her recovery
Keira spent from August 2005 to January 2006 confined in her crate and alot of time for the following few months while her exercise was being built up. Bless her she was so good
Do you have a cupboard that the crate could go in. In my living I used to have a large walk in cupboard and I put the crate in the doorway, so she could see everything but the crate was out of the way.
I hope the problem with her elbow isn't anything sinister and Sasha makes a speedy recovery.
no joanne, we don't have anything like that unfortunately, our kitchen is fairly open plan but with a table so no spare cupboards or anything, and our living room is a strange l shape so no space either, i'm just hoping it's nothing too bad and doesn't need a crate, she has never been in one and i think it would be hard for her to adjust to being in one, plus no doubt pepper would try and get in it too just coz sasha would be in it and pepper is bigger than sasha now in height i can just imagine her now trying to squeeze in
all these poor dogs with poorly joints ect, good job we have vets and insurance, mind you she'd be worth the money if i didn't have insurance x x x
