I just brought home a new black lab (Ruger). He will be 11 weeks old on Monday and is doing suprisingly well for a pup. I have been crate training him and he has yet to go in his cage and has only had a couple of accidents inside ( only wet ones thankfully). Anywho, I am wondering when is a good time to take him and make him an outside dog? Should I wait a few more weeks? Have I waited to long? Should I do it gradually or just put him outside. It's really hot right now in Texas close to 105 today. Will that bother him?? What about the cold?? I am new to the puppy thing and new to the board, help me out guys.

has he had his vaccinations yet? usually first jab then 2 weeks later the second. you then wait 1 week after this before he should be allowed out to areas where he may come into contact with other dogs.
As to keeping the dog outside, unfortunately I cannot help there, as here in UK it is not the norm for dogs to live outside.
Im sure you will get some advise though theres a lot of experience lurkin in these forums
