Argh sorry it was Beaphar spot on we used Sad dont even know if its licensed for dogs .
I would say to try the frontline BUT do you have to be careful of overdose when using frontline ?
I know with the rats tou need to be very careful of overdosing ,suppose it could be as dangerous in dogs ?

For mites it would have to be a solution called advocate or stronghold both of those treatmites but they are both prescription only.

Just caught up with this Julie ...

when Remi had a similar problem the vet prescribed stronghold ... which doesnt help you at the mo but if its of any help for instant relief from the itching the vet suggested aloe vera gel after being kept in the fridge !!!..... sounds daft but it worked ... xxx

Just to let you know that the vet did indeed prescribe stronghold and also gave her a steroid injection. He thinks it will clear quickly as we have caught it so early.

Many thanks for all your help Wink

Sorry I missed this earlier. It's obviously too late now but I would not have given Frontline at this time because it's not one of the more effective Mange mite killers. So it would mean giving two different flea preparations very soon after each other.

Be very aware that this is one ailment which can transfer over to humans, although hopefully you have not given it time.

Regards, John
