Well, here we are at day 60! Sophie's 9 weeks from first mating is on Wednesday, but I know she could "produce" at any time now. She is absolutely huge, and looks like a sow when she's lying on her side, surely she can't get any bigger! She sounds like the wookie from Star Wars for most of the time, indignant as she can't understand why she is so fat.
Must admit, my sleep is being affected as I'm panicking that I won't hear her if she starts in the middle of the night. She was digging the sofa last night and I fell back asleep dreaming that she was having them. Had to get up in the middle of the night just to check!
Anyway, whelping box is ready, and I have ticked the list of everything required in the Book of the Bitch, so hopefully I won't be caught short.
No idea how many she is having as we didn't have her scanned. However, the stud dog owner has just rung me to say that the stud has recently helped produce litters of 13-15 puppies ! GULP! Fingers crossed we have something more manageable. Luckily, Mum and Dad are experienced breeders who are currently "on call" and local.
Oh, and I will be taking loads of photos, camera and tripod on standby!
Poor Sophie she looks about ready to pop!!, hope all goes well, what colour are you expecting?, mix of choc and black? , hope she doesn`t have 13-15!!, you`ll be very busy helping her out if she does
