Congratulations am so pleased for you - and thank you for posting this thread I have now learnt about optigen testing which is something I had not heard of before (ignorant I know!) and that is going to be something else to check when the puppy hunt begins......!

Eve its not ignorant not to know about it at all..... Its only been about for around 5 years with maybe only .... oh..... 10%, if that, of Labradors being bred from tested currently its vitally important but not widespread yet - but its spreading like wildfire thankfully.

Lets face it they have been hipscoring for, what? 35 years, yet some breeders and those who mate their bitch still beg ignorance that it exists or has a worthful place in producing healthy puppies, so what chance has such a puppy of a test got in Optigen at the mo in being well known or understood ! Wink

Mine were one of the last set of results to come through when Clover was tested - as we were fast approaching Christmas, I rang them and lo and behold, my results appeared by email the next day - with the letter arriving not too long afterwards.

My understanding from talking to them is they run them in batches - which is why there seems to be such disparity between those using the same 20/20 clinic - on that occasion, am guessing it was the surname, because the other 'Ws' came through the same day as mine Very Happy

Edited to say: oops - sorry OP - congratulations on your result Very Happy
