Alfie has been being treated for a little over a week now for a bad ear infection, i took him back yesterday and the vet said his ears are still bad although slightly better than last week so i had to choose either for him to continue the treatment or have him sedated and his ears completely flushed out where they would also take swobs to see what type of infection he had.
I decided to continue the treatment for another week as he seemed a little better and then if they're not improved much by next week, he'd be sedated but now today i've noticed one of his ears is a lot lower set than the other one looks as though its lower than his jaw and the other up near his muzzle (hope that makes sense)
I've phoned the vets and the receptionsist is getting my vet to call me back when he gets back to the surgery (he's out on call) but until then i wondered if anyone knows if this could mean something more is going on than just an infection?
Can dogs ears change position because of an ear infection? ?

I've never hear of an ear changing position because of an infection, although my horse's ear would droop a little when it bothered her. Do you have any old photos that would show if it was always like this?
The vet just phoned, Alfie's going in tomorrow morning to be sedated and posibly aneasthetised (sp?) hopefully he'll feel alot better afterwards though, i just feel so awful putting him through it, he really hates the vets but he's so good about it
If anyone can spare a few healing and good luck vibes for tomorrow i'd appreciate it
