hi thanks for all your ideas and claire i really feel for you to as you have lots more to find and a baby on the way bless you. Well even thought i am a full time nursing student we dont get any benifits as ben works full time and just had a carer change himself so as he has changed jobs yes its a better one but he still hasnt been paided yet as he will get paid monthy now and we have less than a month to find it maybe?Yes we did all the right things when we looked into buying tia to but if she wasnt with us than i dont no what would have happend to her and she is the best dog in the world and very spoiled am afraid.Yes we went with petplan as they have a good rep but looks like they forgot a few details with some people, the plan runs out in jan and tia cannot wait that long she needs at least one side of her hips doing asap.I have asked them already if we could change on to the unlimated plan than they said they think so but not sure. And as she needs her other hip doing to that would be great. We only have another months supply of medicine left that cost just over 100 a month, but if we have to we will have to buy another months all we have done is pay out since we got her and with to cars to run and everything else its taking its toll. And poor bethany i have been emptying the wendy house to see what is in there to sell allready got one dolls pram on ebay(as i think i would get more on there) and another pushchair all cleaned up to sell, anything i can get my hands on that i no she hasnt played with for a while, its just she sees you with it and its the best toy ever again bless her.we are hoping to do a car boot next week as i need to raid my friends houses yet to and they have to help me to.I have never done a car boot before and any tips would be great thanks to you all,and keep in touch claire that would be nice and good luck love kelly ben+bethany and tia xxxxxxxxx

Hi Kelly
Sorry to hear that Tia won't be able to wait till next inurance year to have first hip done. I really hope you manage to get the money together for her treatment. Don't forget to try the Dogs Trust - you may get some help there.
I know what you mean when you say that you don't know what would have happened to her if she hadn't come to live with you. It was meant to be - she needed somebody special to care for her. As you know Monty has a lot of problems (paroxysmal dyskinesia and hip dysplasia) - but I wouldn't swap him for all the world.
Before we got Monty we had a dalmatian named Sam. The day after we got him (at 9 weeks) we had to take him to the vet with cystitis. When I tried to insure him a few days later they insisted on an exclusion of urinary tract problems. Later on Sam became a "stone former" - quite common in dalmatians and though he was covered for everything else - not for that. He needed a special expensive diet all his life, and despite everything we lost him at the age of just 2. That last week of his life cost over £1000 in vets fees and they couldn't save him.
I really think that "special needs" dogs need special owners who will do everything humanly possible for them - and Tia is so lucky to have you.
Please could you let us all know if Pet Plan say it is possible to "upgrade" -when there's already an existing condition. I know that I certainly would be willing to pay the extra for Monty.
Good luck with the appointment and with the fund-raising
June

Hi Kelly,
We'll get our boy his new hips by hook or by crook! We did a car boot on sunday and raised £140 so really pleased with that, we had so much stuff we could do another one, but will prob wait til next year now. I was all keen to do one in another month until OH pointed out that I'll be 8 months pregnant by then! and it'll be october and raining no doubt! We're also going to see if we can get by without spending the insurance money from Brody's x rays (£500 odd) not that we've got it back yet anyway so that'll be £640 already which although only a small dent, a dent nonetheless.
It's so hard, isn't it? Brody is such a gorgeous doggy, he's so good natured we just are in love with him and couldn't stand to not at least give him a chance at a decent life. We're going to take him to a specialist soon, to get a proper opinion from an expert in the field of hips! so we shall have a clearer picture of the whole thing, as our main worry is how he will be after, how much of a recovery he'll make etc.
Anyway, good luck with your car boot and lots of doggy cuddles to Tia. One of these days I'll get OH to sort out my avatar and put some piccies on of Brody for me so you can all see how worth it he is! Blummin apple macs...
lots of love claire and brody x x
