I have been advised to give this to Eliza and Keira.

Anyone else use it or any thoughts?

Thanks

Can I ask why you've been advised to give it to them Jo, do they have joint problems? I've never heard of the stuff myself, but Rosie has just been put on Seraquin (doggy glucosamine supplement) because she's had a knee op.

Sorry Joanne I haven't heard of it either which is not very helpful.

All I can say is be very careful that you are not doubling up on supplements etc. If you are feeding a complete food it already has the necessary ingredients (supposedly) for maintaining a fit dog.

I am very wary of what I put into my dogs mouths. As with all supplements too much of something is just as bad as too little! Rolling Eyes

Hope that makes sense.

Thanks Very Happy

Eliza had a RTA 7 years ago and nearly lost her left foot but was operated on and managed to keep it. However this has left her now with a calcified Carpal joint which is very sore for her.

Keira was diagnosed with HD and ED at 4 1/2 months of age and had TPO surgery on both hips at 4 1/2 and 5 1/2 months.

I have been giving them glucosamine but the trainer recommends this powder for dogs with joint problems and any dogs over the age of 3.

This is off of the label:

Kordels Joint Food Powder is a special purpose food formulated to provide nutritional support for bones, joints, ligaments and cartlidge.

This food incoporates those special factors required for nutritional support including Glucosamine Sulphate and Chondroitin Sulphate (from Marine sources) together with the recommended co-factors, Vitamin C and Citrus Bioflavonoids with minerals Manganese, Copper, Zinc and Selenium.

Glucosamine aids in the formulation of connective tissue including collagen and cartlidge and a deficiency of depletion of Glucosamine may be associated with joint and tendon problems, indicating a need for increased intake.

Obviously, if I am going to use it, I wouldn't be giving the capsules too.

She has said that she has seen results in dogs after a week.

We also went through what Keira eats as she is a bit hyper and the food she has contains EEC Permitted Anti Oxidants (E numbers I presume), so I am going back to the food that I used when I had Coogie which has no additives.
