Sorry I didnt come back on in time to explain fully, but in the the brace Ive been in, you lead both dogs around to heal side by side, as you probably saw

Basically, in "Brace" the dogs are judged as in a show class, but as a matched pair. So obviously one yellow and one black would be out! Also one heavily built show type dog with a "Racy" working dog.
There is also a class at novelty shows usually called "Irish Brace" which is for dogs as different as possible!
