There is the potential for her to carry chocolate, but it is only a small chance. As Di says, using a black or yellow definitely not carrying it would be wise, IF you definitely do not want to produce choc pups. There have been plenty of chocs produced from black/yellow matings which have super colour and pigment - one occasionally in the ring is one I like very much indeed.

Breaths slowly.... having just had the postman knock at 6.35 am with two boxes full of 42 packets of Optigen samples this morning which are now all over my kitchen table (still all sealed I hasten to add don't panic anyone!!!) I am starting to wonder if this is SUCH a great plan Wink

No its going well so far. Yes will definately do it again and will definately post it clearly on the forum.

Do you get two postal deliveries? If so, ours will be with the second one.

You are definitely mad to consider doing it again Laughing . My friend and I though about doing one a while back, then considered the potential hassle and decided not to Wink

So hats off to you for doing it even once Very Happy

well done Di hopefully this will all go smoothly and you'll be willing to do another Wink

I have another question regards to breeding/pet dogs.

The condition that the optigen tests for, is it treatable? The reason i ask is that if it is treatable, surely it would make sense if even "pet" owned dogs are tested as puppies so that should they be affected the owner is in a better position to look for the signs and symptoms to begin treatment earlier?

let me know if i am barking up the wrong tree here, i am totally new to labradors and the whole dog thing in general (i dont count working for rescues and veterinary practices, or the dogs i owned as a child into this as its not the same thing at all!).
