Hello all
I have had Bruno for 2 days now and im a newbie to it all as i've not brought a dog up before.
I have had a little look through the website and I think I am going to learn a lot from here!
I do have a few things I would like to learn though:
How much to feed him
(he has been on 3 meals a day but I know he is quite fat as his stomach is huge )
What to feed him on
(I have bought pedigree chum puppy complete, is this ok?)
Why has he got the runs?
(someone mentioned that its due to change of habitat)
Why does he drink SO MUCH water?
(he seems to go through 4 - 5 bowls of water per day, is this ok?)
I have seen that alot of people have crates on here but what do you put in them over night and when you leave your dogs alone in the house and do you keep the door open?
At 10 weeks I was advised to feed 4 times a day. In fact I am still feeding Hudson 4 times a day and he is now 14 weeks.
As to what to feed him on - did the breeder not tell you what they were feeding him on? Normally you would feed the same and introduce a new food slowly bit by bit. We changed Hudson over from what the breeder had him on to our choice of food over the course of a week.
This could be why he has the runs.
He will drink lots of water. Have you been putting water in his dry food? If not, then he will need to get the moisture somewhere and thats why he's drinking so much. Plus he has the runs..... that always make me thirsty.

3-4 small meals a day is fine for Bruno (puppy should have 'ikle fat belly)
Pedigree Complete, isn't the greatest but I'm no expert on the food ingredients lists and comparisons. Hopefully someone can help a little more on that one.
His runs are more than likely due to a little bit of anxiety also if he is eating lots of food it could also be adding to it.
I would see if it starts to right itself over the next day or so (the drinking will keep him hydrated), if not you could boil up a little chicken and rice for him. This did the trick with my 2.
If he has recently been wormed, this can also affect his poos.
I have mine overnight in the crates but I have them out if I'm going out during the day. The kitchen door is closed though as a puppy lose in the house can do himself some damage (chewing wires etc). It would be best if you could puppy proof one room for him to be whilst you are out.
Good luck with your lil' fella and post us some pics soon (I love to goo over new pups)
if you have changed his food suddenly that is why he has the runs, feed him what he is used to and change gradually, any dog on dried food need lots of water dont worry about how much he drinks just deep it available to him, lets see some pics soon,
