Hi All,

Not so long ago, we set up our sister site www.lostlabs.com which has been set up to assist in the searches for lost and stolen labradors.

In the short time it has been up & running, it has been bought to our attention, just how many labradors are either lost or stolen. These poor little labs are out there somewhere, and their sad owners wake up everyday hoping they will be reunited with their furry friends.

I know, that if our lab (god forbid) was ever lost or was stolen, i would be absolutely devestated, as i'm sure we all would be.

I'm asking today to see if you can make all the difference to helping and assisting with the search for these labs, all you need to do is to sign up for what we call 'lab alerts'. It's basically a database with all the details of volunteers throughout the UK, who if needed, are willing to help assist with the search if a lab goes missing in the area they live.

I.E If you sign up for lab alerts and you live in Hampshire, the next time a lab is lost or stolen in Hampshire, we will email/contact you to see if you can help with posters/searches/phoning around anything really, which could all help to find this particular labrador.

We really do need your help - thanks for listening.

Rhoni & Margaret are doing such a brilliant job, spending literally hours everyday (unpaid) to help, so please sign up now. All you need to do is register with www.lostlabs.com and on the homepage, you will see the heading 'help out' on the left hand side menu, where you can add your details. (signing up takes about 30 seconds) Wink

Thanks again everyone - i look forward to seeing you there.

(p.s. thanks for all of those who have already signed up) Wink

Here are just a few of the labs in need of your help.

Hi Sarah & Kay

Thank you for the replies to the e-mails.

If we have a report of a missing dog in your area we will sent you an

"ALERT ". At the moment most dogs going missing are from the

Hampshire area, we are trying to rally the troops from that area.

Thanks again

Hi everyone,

I am taking the liberty of cross posting this from Lost Labs. It's from Tess, a new member today ( welcome to both sites Tess ) and shows not only how easy theft happens but how determined, daring and callous the thieves are.

Also is shows the frustration at the agencies that could / should help.....

Tess, keep hoping, never give up....you only have to look on www.dogslost.co.uk to see how dogs are found months if not years later...

Tess writes...
Hello all,

just stumbled across this site, i have two labs one chocolate girl, and a yellow boy!!

last september i had a black 4 and a half month old bitch stolen from my back garden and i suspect by gypsies / travellers . 4 other pedigree dogs went missing in two weeks in the same area. i had a phone call off someone demanding money for her! i took my phone to police only to be told that they couldnt or wouldnt trace the call!

i was heartbroken , RSPCA told me she'd probably been stolen to order as she had not yet been sterilised.

Shes chipped, which isnt worth anything - my local RSPCA centre said they only scan pets if itis requested as they dont have time!

Maybe , if i'm lucky one day she'll turn up after she's had afew litters for the lowlifes that took her- my only worry is how she will have been treated!

Nearly a year has passed since all this now, but i still miss her- and my eldest dog still sits looking for his girl at the window

Tess could be anyone of us......sad state of affairs but the truth nevertheless...........none of us can be confident nor complacent about our pets, to the thieves they are money !

It's because of sites like Lost Labs and other similiar sites and the dedication by volunteers that dogs are reunited.....whilst we battle to ensure ALL dogs are routinely scanned etc and ransom demands are taken more seriously.
