Breeding, even for pet homes, isn't as simple as just chucking two dogs together and hoping for the best, as you've found out!
I also recommend you get the appropriate health tests as quoted above on your bitch, then research and select a good stud dog for your bitch to go to, make sure he has all the appropriate health checks as well.
Then, since you are paying for the stud service, it is a lot more than just the use of the dog on your bitch... you're also paying for the very experienced breeders advice on everything... they will be able to advise you on when to bring the bitch in (bitch goes to the dog, not the other way around) for mating, when to bring it back for the second mating, what signs to look for to see if bitch has taken, preparations for whelping, etc etc etc... the very experienced breeder will be on the other end of the phone for you, which is exactly what you would need... someone who knows what's going on to guide you through it.
Seriously, look for a good stud dog and pay for the services of someone who knows what they're doing.
The life of your bitch may very well depend on it!!!
Also, your bitch (who is yellow I think??) needs to be taken to a yellow dog, or a black carrying yellow dog (the breeder will know if their dog carries yellow) to enable you to get yellow puppies, and you won't get any chocolate puppies out of her.
I'd highly recommend neutering your dog, he must be going mental having an in-season bitch around him... and you certainly don't want a dog who's had sex once and can't have it again... stud dogs should be used at stud regularly, and your pet dog won't be ever used regularly enough, so please do him a favour and have him desexed... trust me, he'll be a much happier chappy once he doesn't have all those hormones interrupting his thinking There's a good post, a "sticky" at the top of the breeding section, called "thinking of using your dog at stud", please read this.
Good luck, and please let us know what you decide when you finish speaking to the vet.
