Has anyone else noticed that when their pup goes though a growth spurt, their brain gives up on them?!!

Ida has suddenly shot up in height since the GT last weekend and her brain has given up the ghost Shocked . Also she is zonked out (although she isn't keen on the hot weather this week either) and when she does wake up she is a daft as a brush. We went for a lead walk round to the local shop this evening and she usually walks like a dream and is the model shopper. This evening she was like a fish caught on the end of a line and she ran amuck in the Co-op!

I met up with another puppy walker this morning and she said that she'd noticed a similar thing when her pups went through a growth spurt. Thinking back, I seem to remember the same thing happening with my other pups. Ida is 15 weeks old now and a treasure, but I can't wait for her brain to re-start!!!

Know what you mean Becs - Ben is 5 months old and is having a growth spurt - he too is the same.

My theory is that as they shoot up there brain falls into their boots and they have to wait for it to float back up again Laughing

Glad Ida isn't the only Dolly-Day-Dream at the moment!!!

Sam- I wonder if it would help to roll the pups over and give them a good wiggle about to loosen the brain from their boots!!!!

Yes, Oyster was like that Becs.....Everytime she shot up (which was quite often) she would sleep for hours and the braincell would be switched off. I didn't notice it with Mojo (but then she has more than one braincell, infact she has someone elses as well as her own Rolling Eyes ) mind you she grew very gradually and didn't reach her full height until she was about 18 months old.
