Just come across this while browsing.
I am 35 and male and live in north wales. I got Rusty when he was 1yr old because the family who had him couldent cope with his manic behaviour He was ripping the house to bits. I started looking after him when I moved into my house and neede company and I found he was no problem In fact i thought he was exellent company. I went walking with him most nights and ran off his energy which calmed him down. However every time i took him back to his owners he would start again and they could not believe how well behaved I was saying he was in my company.
One day I took him back and he ran straight through the house, out the garden, through a neighbours garden and he met me on the road further down chasing after my car. I took him back and his owner and she said "you know I think He would rather be with you. If you want him he is yours."
I said yes and rest is history. We have had fun times eversince and he is still well behaved. He comes to work with me every day (I built a bed for him in my van) and we walk the hills and beaches most nights.
He is a pedigree Lab (captain heath is his KC name) and I think he is from a working line because his family tree has a fair few field trial champions in it. he is medium build and will run (fast) all day long. He is full of energy.
He loves soft toys and balls and loves swimming. I had to rescue him after he got tangled in ropes after swimming out and trying to "retreive" a buoy.I had to swim out to him to free him It was febuary and the sea was freezing cold so I was not chuffed. even less so when as I tried to swim back with him he grabbed the buoy to fetch it back with us like I had swum out to help him get it.
anyway thats prob far too much all ready and I could go on. I will try and sort some photos of him out when I work out how to do it and look forward to meeting you all.
