I noticed that Bess had a couple of scabby patches in her groin and armpits (is that the right term - is it legpits!), and also one on her neck. Took her to the vets this afternoon and yep she has mange..shes got tables to take and Stronghold (shes always been on frontline) and we have to shampoo the offending areas which of course is easier said than done

Anyway I'm now exhausted from washing everything I can find that can go inthe washing machine, I've dettoxed, disinfected and bleached - of course Bess has helped - NOT, shes either watched me whilst looking sorry for herself or tried to steal things.

Any way we all feel itchy (luckily this is imaginery we don't have any scabby bits!) so please send Bess and Me some stop itching vibes. And any good tips to speed up Bess' healing would be much appreciated

and if you use Frontline and you have foxes in your area you might want to think about switching to Stronghold!

Tracey and Beautiful but scabby Bess

uurrgghhghghgh not nice!

a friend at uni had scabies... the number of men she had to go and tell! Shocked

so loads of anti itch vibes!

How does Strong hold differ from frontline and do the dogs have to have direct contact with infected animal to equal infection?

oh Sam, I hadn't thought of who she may have infected.. she has a boyfriend she goes to the park with and they roll over and over eachother, I'll have to tell his owner.. The shame Embarassed

Stonghold also treats sarcoptic mange, the Vet has said that Bess will need it monthly additionally it prevents hearworm disease and ear mites. Apparently the most common way our labs catch mange is from rolling or rubbing in fox poo/wee

Oh yes, my vet was telling me about Stronghold and apparently it treats heartworm disease, roundworms, ear mites, fleas, sarcoptic mange and lice infestations.
