Jo, I am not a camper either. Tried it once with OH, and never again.

Wet, blowing a gale, creepy crawlies & field mice in the tent. ME who had to cook breakfast in the rain and then ME to trek half a mile to do the washing up. Also, a half mile trek to the loo so I couldn't even have a drink really.

I am probably a big wuss too here, but I hated arriving on holiday and the accommodation was not even there. I don't need 5 star luxury or anything, but with all my creature comforts at home, and washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher on hand (oh, and more than one conveniently placed toilet too) then why do I want to go away to nothing?? If I can't afford to have at least some comfort when I go away then I would really rather stay home.

I am with you there. Very Happy

Helen.

Oh Jo, I can remember talking to you about it on Saturday and I really felt for you, you were really not amused with your experience of camping. I think you did really well though, a darn sight braver than me.

Awwwww...It was my first camping trip too....and yes I could have done with a bigger tent.....and perhaps some electric gadgets....but even though it chucked it down...I had a great time Very Happy . Mind you I suppose working outside in all weathers, all day, everyday for a few years, hardens the soul to a bit of rain and mud. Laughing

My Hubby is a lily livered pen pusher...and wild horses wouldn't have got him under canvas....which was handy, as he stayed at home and looked after the rest of the mottley crew.....It's horses for courses I suppose. Wink
