Bailey's a 'winter' pup and he used to sit by the back door and whine and bang the cat flap with his paw. He's always slept in my bedroom on his dubet on the floor and even as a tiny puppy he would whine or cry and if i still didn't wake up he would bark. He went straight in the garden from 7 weeks old which i think helped.
