Hi just after a bit of advice. I'd like to give glucosamine & chondroitin to Wicca as she is super active and a mad bum tuck runner and I worry about her joints. I try to keep her on the lead on walks but when I do this she goes mental in the house and turns sharply and bangs her rear end on things. Even if you give her loads of toys or kongs she needs to burn off her energy. If I let her off the lead on walks she is better in the house but jumps on and off the verge banks. Anyway I was wondering if it's just the normal tablets that you give dogs and what kind of dose do you give them?
Cheers.

How old is the pup the best you can do at this young age is gentle walking, no up and down stairs, no jumping in and out of cars, that’s what she needs no need to give glucosamine & chondroitin at this young age unless she has joint problems even the food you can buy with it in is recommended after a certain age

She's 5 months old. She doesn't do stairs, gets lifted in and out the car etc. She not a snoozy pup and is contantly on the go. As post above if she gets the reccomened daily excersise for her age (25-30 mins) she goes loopy in the house which is what worries me. Should I give her longer walks on the lead to avoid this? Yesterday when she got out her crate and stretched one of her joints clicked, couldn't tell which one is was. I worry that her bum tuck runs when she turns and bumps into things are harming her joints. I thought this might be a good preventative measure. She is the most active pup I've ever met and nice sedate walks are a warm up act in her opinion.

Most puppies have a mad 5mins but if you just train her on the lead walking make her sit, stand, she is learning train her to clam down, do you go to a training class? my puppy likes to play games like finding treats they love to learn new things she will calm down try not to encourage her when she is going mad

If she was running about for 5 mins I wouldn't worry. Pups we've had before did the same then would have a snooze. She doesn't nap often, preffering to sleep great at night and be awake all day. She'll tear about for ages and isn't encouraged during this time. She will calm down slowly if you tempt her with toys or search games. But she still is buzzing and humps her toys, furiously, which I'm sure can't be good for those little hips!. She is lead trained. Having her on the lead isn't the problem, she's very well behaved. She'll stop, sit and lie when out on walks. She's trained to sit on the verge if a car passes or another dog. She has great manners. She has lots of mental stimultion. It's her physical energy which I'm concerned about.
Cheers though.
