My OH made a ramp for Toby that slot's into the bike rack holder of the car, but surprise, surprise unless we have bit's of hot dog sausage to hand Toby doesn't want to know. On a good note he has just spent 2 weeks with my parents while we were away and will now jump into the back of the car. At 9months and 25 kg was getting rather heavy to lift into the 4x4 especially when he realised you were going to pick him up he would park his bum on the floor!!

With a limited degree of carpentry and or visit a metal machine shop, it is possible to create a ramp, hinged in concertina style and covered with non slip mat that folds neatly away, able to bear the necessary weight, for less than a tenner Very Happy No need to spend loads ...just a bit of thought and footwork ..... Very Happy HTH

Aww...I'm glad that Tara likes her ramp and hope that it will save her a few bruised bottoms and loss of dignity! I think that a Stanna stairlift for her next is a fab idea....I can just picture Tara regally sat upon it as it carries her up the stairs. You could teach Oyster to opperate it for her! Excellent for your menfolk if they've had one over the top too, and for getting your pile of washing upstairs......yep...a Stanna is a definant 'must' I think!
