Well after much rummaging in the cupboard under the stair, which is like a Tardis (I can't believe how much I can get in there ), I found the tent....and after another 30 mins rummaging (very hot and speaking in Anglo Saxon by now) I found the tent poles (no idea why they weren't with the tent ).
So me and son number 2 set to erecting the thing in the garden....It was surprisingly easy , although you do need more than one working hand (which is all I have at the moment ). Oyster was eyeing it suspiciously from the house, but Mojo and Tara were fully involved, getting in the way whenever they could .
Anyway after a bit of gentle encouragement (feeding lovely smelling treat to the other two inside the tent) Oyster had an attack of the "Braves" and came to join us inside...YAY....and she has been ok since, wandering in and out of her own accord.
So I'm thinking of sleeping in the thing tonight with the girls, just as a trial run (more for me than them). I just hope it doesn't rain.
Ah now dont they look nice and relaxed just lying there!!
I need to do a trial run this week too, think we're camping out Friday night, make sure Sadie is okay with it!
Picked up a couple of camping bits today, so can now fetch water, have a light to aid my stumble back to the tent, and have got a little burner to make a brew!
I AM BLAMING YOOOOOUUUU JULES YA HEAR ME hehehehe I read yours got all inspired and went off to get my tent and check it out for holes no need to put it up just spread it out in my bedroom I thought - 50 mins later no holes (yay) MASSIVE HOT PLASTIC MONSTROCITY ACCROSS MY BED THAT I CANT GET BACK IN THE ******** BAG
The silver lining is all poles and stuff in its bags and instructions still in their pouch Ding a ling round 2 me vs tent I WILL WIN!!!!!!!!
At least you have no holes in yours.....I've got a cigarette burn hole right in the middle of my groundsheet.....That'll teach me to let my teenagers and their mates use it last year.
AND TO TOP IT ALL OFF (can you feel the rant ) I brought half of kingsbury home with me last year which hid in the folds of my tent for a year and is now making itself at home on my bed
BUT it could be worse hubby could have packed it up and it would have been put away wet with poles and cords and pegs all lost forever more *sigh*
Have you noticed I am still here btw - coffee and a fag before I go tackle the tent maybe
