Hi Janet! Welcome to LF!

Goodness that was quick work - congratulations! How are you all doing now? Can you post any photos? What colour are they?

Molly had 9 puppies just over two weeks ago - she is aiming to win the 'Best Mum 2007' award and her pups are absolutely gorgeous.

Are you still sleeping with them? I slept next to the whelping box for just under a week but am now back in my bed (bliss!) and just come down once a night to feed Molly and let her out.

If you can post any photos and more details on pups and Dido you can post that in the New Additions section or if you would like any advice on anything in this post-whelping phase put it in the Breeding section and your post wll be seen by some really helpful and experienced breeders.

Edited - sorry you did say what colours they are! Silly me!

Hi,
I appear to have 2 suspect brown pups as well as 2 sure browns,
how can you truely tell as this stage if they are brown or black, the 4 sure blacks are black black but these 2 seem to have a browness to them and have light pads and light nails....i'm a bit bemused with it all looking and wondering ... haven,t got a clue what to addvertise at the moment, Dido was mated with dark yellow male and i really thought i would get at least one yellow but wasn't to be, i was hopefully keeping 1 yellow girl and 1 black girl to complete our family up to 4 labs ( got a 7 year old lucy yellow ).

ANY TIPS ...tHANKS JANET

Ooooh, I've just caught up with this!

Congratulations on the pups! With regards to the "suspect brown" pups, it can be hard to tell at such a young age.

Normally, you can see by the coat and chocs have lighter nails and pads + a choccy nose - may even appear pinkish! How old are your pups now? Its much easier to tell blacks from chocs once they are a bit older, then it is quite obvious! Blacks will definitely have a black coat, black nails and pads, whilst the choccys definitely have a choccy colour and nails and pads to match (also their lovely nose is pinky/choccy)! Laughing
