Hello There, My name is Janet and my black lab DIDO (named after the singer) is due to have her pups this saturday, i'm soooooooooo excited and sleeping down stair on the sofa bed next to her box in case she starts early.
Yes this is our first time and i've been reading anything and everthing about breeding and whelping and hoping i can hold all of it together when the time comes along.....Whelping box and all my bits and pieces await Dido and her new babies in a tiled utility area, she has been sleeping quite happily in her new area for a couple of weeks now. Lucy our other lab of 7 years was spayed some years ago but has still out of the blue took to carrying a soft toy tiger about in her mouth where as before she would of pulled a leg off a toy instead.

Hi, Dido had 8 pups in just under 2 hours and it was alot faster than i had expected, i had also thought i may get a few yellows but got 2 chocolate girls and 2 black girls and 4 black guys...........in fact things were happening so fast that i had thought for a couple of hour that i had 7 pups but after i had given Dido some quality bonding time with her offspring realised i she had 8 and i had mis counted SOMEHOW!!!! DERRRRRRR silly me.
Mother and Pups doing fine and vet has just left so i guess its head down for some rest since i sat up all night just staring at them all
