Poor Hudson! We came home tonight to a puppy with a slightly swollen face. As we went about the business of feeding him and preparing our own dinner it just got worse! By the time we were ready to sit down to eat, our wee man had a face akin to a boxer who had gone three rounds with Frank Bruno!!!
So a quick call to the vet who advised us to come straight up and a wee injection later he is starting to look more like the puppy we know and love! He reckoned he had been stung by a bee or a wasp and was allergic to it!
The biggest irony of all is that this is his first day of going out for walks!
So watch your puppies!!!! I certainly shall be more careful now around wasps!
This is a picture of him about 2 hours after the injection, compare it to the one taken last week in the signature.

Awww poor little Hudson, could also be something around on his walk that he`s allergic to, they tend to stick their heads in anything, moreso for him as the big world is all new and every inch has to be explored
He had a big lump on his back... sort of between the shoulder blades. At first I thought it was his microchip that had been inserted last week, but the vet was pretty certain it was a bee sting. I wish we had taken a picture when his wee face was at its worst but we just rushed him out the door once we realised how bad it was

No.of Labs: 1
Lab Names: Marley (Coco Caramel Boy) DOB 11.04.07 Indi (Newf) DOB 28.6.07 Always remembering Charlie who died 12.06.07 run free my baby x
Marley is always catching flies - his mouth acts like a venus fly trap. Yesterday however, he lunged for one, and then yelped a little, and out came half a wasp from his mouth.
Luckily the sting had gone just under his nose, right near the middle line and was only a few millimeters from being inside his mouth!
I carefully pulled the sting out and then bathed the area, and he has been fine - no swelling or anything.
Poor Hudson could well be allergic though, but it also could be a multitude of things.
I called my vet because I thought Lula had swallowed something and he said give her 2 piriton tablets... I now carry with me in my dog walking bag a box of Piriton tables just in case and tweezers, plus water, treats, pooh bags, toys, tissues, water bowl, my phone, keys, water for me etc - gives a new meaning to the term 'bag lady' - more paraphanalia than when i used to take my babies out!!!
so wishing you baby better - they do bounce back so quickly!
Sorry to hear that Hudson had an allergic reaction to a bee sting. Our dog had a reaction back in June, poor darling he had swelling and it affected his breathing as well - our vet was brilliant he gaveDenzel injections and after antibiotics and anti inflamatorys.within a week he was back to normal.
