Due to feeling slightly bereft now due to the lack of forthcoming shows within my driving-comfort-zone (20 miles radius of Gloucester with no motorways or roundabout on route) to further my persuit of bringing the world of dog-showing into the 21st Century, Ida has suggested (being the brighter one of the 2 of us) that we turn our attention next to reviewing the the very dull and dreary dog newspapers in order to make them more reader-friendly.
When I last bought one (WH Smiths had sold out of 'You and Your Greenhouse') it struck me that there was far to much writing, the pictures were very samey and unimaginative, there was no problem page, no horoscopes and the jokes were rather stale. Also a lot of people seem to die regularly and the obituaries seem to make up the bulk of the news.
With this in mind, Ida and I shall take a trip into town on Saturday to purchase a selection of dog journals and we shall study, take notes and come up with a few suggestions that I think will change the face of the Canine Press.......My first thought is a 'What to Wear to get the Judge's Attention' cover story so I may need a few models...
