Hiya!
Just joined up as got my first puppy - Belle. My parents have always had labradors, so I am used to them, but it's different having my own wee darling. Just getting used to waking so early, but it's so nice to see a beautiful face so happy to see me in the morning. Only problems I am having at the moment is that she seems to be biting everything, especially my hair and cables!! Any advice on how to get her to stop?
Thanks!

I guess she will settle when she gets a bit older. She's just really over-excitable at the moment. Have got the book "it's me or the dog" and it says to stop playing when biting gets too much......it's hard though as I can't leave her alone when she starts chewing cables!
Hello and welcome
What a little darling ..........until she eats your cables
Have 12week old who like cables and chewing my hands, face etc i distract her with one of her kong toys to take her mind off what's she's doing. also telling her firmly no. As for play biting we do that but if it gets too much we stop and walk away . Have done this with all of mine she's the 3rd pup i've had and it has seened to have worked with the others and she's learning.
I know all aren't the same and its all part of them growing up. Enjoy your pup won't be small and cute for long Soon be huge lump of cuddly lab hee hee
Thanks for advice. It's hard to know if I am doing the right thing or not, but I do distract her with toys, and walk away if she starts biting me too much, or pulling my hair, so thanks for confirming what I am doing is ok! She is a lovely little bundle (10 weeks tomorrow). The vet said she was big for her age, but a lovely shape - of course I agree.
I'm not sure how to reduce the size of the photo. Took me ages to work out how to get the photo on. Any advice on how to upload smaller images would be great! I'll also see if my brother can help me as he's a computer wizard. Sorry for the HUGE image!
When Archie nipped us we did a high pitched NO and after a couple of weeks he was ok,we also would put him behind the baby gate for 10 mins and ignored him,he soon learnt.
Now Archie is a lovely friendly 2 year old and brilliant with the children and we all love him to bits
