and tell me how you think she is coming along. Most will know I can no longer show her but it would be interesting for me to hear what others think... warts and all...because I'm finding it hard to be objective.

She's now 13.5 months old and in the middle of her first season!

And an amusing headshot!!

Okay.... my opinion (and it is only that based on the above photos):

Lovely sweet head with good length of muzzle, good eye colour, really nice clean neck with excellent reach, good topline and tail. Ok for bone. I would prefer to see more condition on her, and she does need to mature in the body. Good turn of stifle and coat looks fine. I'm not sure about her front, due to the photographs, but think it looks okay in the top photo; her chest should improve with maturity.

Generally from the pictures I have seen of her she is a very pretty girl, and if I were you I would be considering moving to the UK Very Happy You would still need to put a little weight on her though, but that does become easier as they get older Wink

Awwww Nic I know nothing about showing but she looks a perfect, sweet girl to me (even if she is minus a few teeth Wink ).

I certainly wouldn't want her any fatter if she was mine though...I can't see why any dog should be made fat just to win a rosette. Rolling Eyes

What are you thinking of doing with her now....working her, or agility, or have you some other job in mind for her? Very Happy

OK, My thoughts.
I know photos are very hard to get right, but the first does not do her justice. It gives the appearance of a badly sloping top line, which in turn gives a poor neck position. Obviously not so because of the second photo! Wink Trouble is, we cannot handle and photograph our dogs all at the same time, so we are dependant on others.

Handling is so important. I was with a friend when she was showing her dog one day and deliberately photographed her at one point to show her the mistakes. I remember, it was at Ascot race course and she had her dog stood with it's front paws in a bad depression, completely ruining the overall appearance of her dog, the behind was so high it looked more like a Leonburger!

Unfortunately I have to agree with Xena about her needing a bit more weight to really succeed in the show ring. I wish it was not so, because I believe myself that her weight is not far out!

Regards, John

Thanks all. I prefer the second photo but kept the first because you can see the turn of stifle better (and because my hubby is a cr@p photographer!!).

I agree with John, it makes her top line look most odd!! She still has a long way to go and will be a late maturer I think BUT as for the weight thing/condition, she does already have some pretty meaty love handles and from above looks quote chunky. She weighs in at 30.85 kilos.

As I can't show her Crying or Very sad I will probably try agility she she will have to lose a fair amount of weight and "condition" for her to be able to do that successfully and safely.

As well has the significant missing teeth she is also timid, another major fault. No matter how oftern we go out, no matter how many agility/ beauty shows we go to, the airport, into town, shopping - it doesn't improve unless she is with one of my other dogs. Yet gunfire and thunder or fireworks she does not bat an eyelid!

The pictures were taken today, both of them.
