Hello and welcome to you Joy and Ellie. You are quite close to us. We are in Widnes.

There are two meets planned in the near future in our area, which you are welcome to join in with. The first is 29th July, but the venue has had to be changed because of green algae. I don't know if a decision has been made yet on where we'll get together. The second is at Formby beach in the middle of August (12th I think). If you are computer literate, you'll find them on the Lab liaisons and get togethers forum. GT=get together.

Welcome also to GypsysSlave.

The week after I posted that message, the landlord came round and saw the damage that Ellie had done on the times she'd been left on her own and asked me to either find a new home for me or the dog - it broke my heart but I had to rehome my beautiful Ellie Bear - there's various reasons why I couldn't have moved house but it doesn't make me feel any better. We took her to Lab Rescue in Eccleston, apparently she's been rehomed now but I miss her so so much. If anyone knows where she's gone, or who's got her, please could you just let me know how she is and how she's settled in - I know it's a lot to ask, I'll just never be able to forgive myself for having to give her up Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

I had a crate for her.. She was in it for all of 15 mins while I nipped to the shop, she ripped the base up and chewed it to bits and managed somehow to bend the door out but she just couldn't manage to squeeze through it cos she was too chubby Laughing Awwww.. It was a bit unfair of them. I know rescues do it all properly and would have made sure she got a good home. Her old owner wasn't interested in the slightest and rather than just put an advert up myself and risk her going to someone who wouldn't give her the love and care she needed, I know rescues vet the new homes and will make sure she gets a fab new place.. Doesn't stop it hurting any though Sad

So sorry to hear about Ellie Crying or Very sad

It doesnt help the hurt you are feeling but im sure Ellie will have gone to a loving home and will be well cared for, like you said the rescue centres usually vet the prospective owners and homes before letting a dog go.

Oh that made me really sad, the post started off so positively and you obviously enjoyed her. So sorry that you had to give her up but it does sound like you tried your best to ensure she would find another loving home.
