Jet enjoys being groomed. The "teeth" on the furminator are quite short, I think it relies on them being very close together to remove the loose hairs.

Since I posted the thread on the furminator asking for opinions, I decided to take the risk and buy one.

I can say they are fabulous, they do not hurt the dog (although I would imagine it would hurt if you did it hard) - you just do it slowly and gently - there is no need to do it harshly at all.

The coat feels so soft and smooth after using the furminator - we tend to do it about twice a week and it does help with moulting.

Best £20 I ever spent! I only wish I knew about them when I had Charlie, I am sure it would have more or less solved his moulting around the house.

Hi Kyomii,

If you don't mind, could you please tell me where you got your furminator?

Was it from a petshop near you or internet?

On ebay they range in price from £17.50 to £30+. [small to large]

So which size did you go for? I would think small would be too small for a Lab, but I suppose a small would just take you a bit longer which is no hardship.

Sorry for all the questions Very Happy Very Happy

Becca

Hi Becca,

I got mine from ebay - and yes I did get the small blue handled one.

As you say a small involves just that little bit of more work Wink

It cost me £19.95 with free recorded delivery. Very Happy

Can I just add that if your dog is moulting at the time of brushing, the Furminator will not stop all the hair being left all over the house. Doobs sheds contantly and yes, although the Furminator does get out a lot of hair, it doesnt stop more coming out. So the claim it will reduce fur by 90% (or whatever the claim was) is a bit of a laugh! But, it really does do a great job though. Whether I prefer it to the shedding blade, I dont know yet. Judge is still out on that.
