Elsey is now 6 mths old and we are still trying to figure out what is best for her to sleep on. She has a plastic bed in her crate that up until recently had a pillow in that she loved ripping to bits. Plus a blanket on the floor of the crate. We then went camping & I bought her a soft furry doggy cushion/bed, which she loved but you've guessed it.....she put a big hole in it & took out the stuffing. What do you suggest...........
I use a selection of things in the dogs beds and these range from carpet samples that can easily be taken out and hoovered to old quilts that we dont use any more for our beds. Also vet beds with the green backing that can be cut to size.
mine have some sort of bed i think its a vet bed..lol all beit very flattened now also 2 mats a picnic blanket and another dog blanket on top of all that pmsl.. there quilt had to go in bin it had finally given in and died on us with many a whole in it pmsl..
Alfie's never chewed his bed so he has a nice big comfy bed and Billy had the same next to it (although they never sleep on their own bed) but just lately Billy has taken to ripping up his bed and pulling all the stuffing out and last night he did it to Alfies bed too i keep sewing them back together but i don't think they'll last much longer so all they're going to be left with is 2 pieces of vetbed which have both survived since Alfie was a pup
Just feel a bit sorry for Alfie coz he loves his comfy bed
Bess has a plastic bed with a big squiggy cushion in it (second one.. first one seemed to offend her in some way and she killed it!) I use a blanket on top which is easy to wash - I have a couple and rotate, the blankets are a bit kinder on my overworked washing machine than the cushions!
Archie has vet bed gold as he ia allergic to dustmites and it is so warm and cosy, that goes into his lovely wooden bed that we had made specially for him with his name carved on it
