I am not biased, Marie... Your leads... Rach's leads.... any persons private parts who prevent you from letting your babies off the lead on their first walk.... I'm not fussy... the sissors are poised and oiled.........

With Gracie, the first time she went off properly was when she was with Doobs. And its been that way ever since and I reckon she has the best recall out of the four of them. Finlay's first time was at the Brean GT and he was fab. In fact he really didnt leave my side and didn't on walks with just me for ages. Lol, I used to get quite annoyed that he wouldnt leave my side and I couldnt practise recall! But now at 6 months, he has quite a good recall (unless he has one of his selective hearing moments) and his little face just lights up when he runs towards me
i had a terrible moment (wish the ground would open n swallow me up!!) with mambo at his first training class when i let him off lead i dont want to repeat that with diva thanks for all info guys i WILL be letting diva off lead very early on
Cookie has been learning recall at training for the last 7 weeks, but even before we started the classes I got her off lead as soon as she was out, playing on her insecurity to keep her close was my idea, which it seems was the right things to do.
Everynight we go for walks and she has time off lead and training done while she is off lead, I never put the lead back on in the same place and sometimes just take it on and off randomly throughout the walk.
Its always scary when I take that lead off in case she just runs, but I always have a pocket full of training treats and a happy voise, does the trick haha
