somewhere on this forum i read its better to let a puppy off lead (in a safe area of course) while they are still young n want to stay with you i want to do this with diva as neither of the boys recalls where any good when i got them they are great now i can stop mylo mid run almost n mambo is pretty good too so is it a good idea to let diva off with them surely she will follow their lead n come back with them wont she ????

Yes - absolutely from day one, literally.... she will charge back to you and be desperate not to let you out of her sight! Just watch for the fact their eyesite isn't all that yet nor their comon sense so take your eyes away fro a minute, they have clocked someone else and thought it was you and charged off to them! Their little faces when they get ten yards away and its not YOU! PANIC!
Its all good though for making them have a decent recall from day one rather than cooping them up on alead into maturity or when they find their feet in life about 4 or 5 months of age.
Its about having a puppy offlead and developing a good recall from it, NOT waiting till you are brave enough. You need to do it when puppy is NOT brave enough to do anything but stick close!

thanks for asking this question monya and thank you Di for answering... this has been an ongoing discussion in our house for the past few days with OH saying that we shouldnt let him off until he is older (jake) - I was going to ask this question myself if only to get Di's opinion in writing!!!!
