distinguish puppies in your litter.

I saw that Sarah had bands on her puppies, a little like collars.
Can anyone tell me where I can get these from?

When we went to pick our puppy from a litter of 12, all black, the breeder daubed our chosen puppy with nail varnish at the base of his tail, the others were done in different places and she wrote down where the mark was so we knew which one was ours. We also got to cuddle him until the nail varnish dried (at least 30 mins to make sure Wink )

hope this helps

I must admit, I didn't bother................and nobody was allowed to pick a pup until they came to collect.

On the odd occasion when I wanted to keep an eye on a particular pup, I used a spot of tippex Smile

I don't identify my puppies until people start choosing at 7 weeks or so. Until then anything around their neck could be dangerous and you really have no need to...

You will see if a pup loses weight or is failing by eye and you know your pups by sight before long. This litter were exceptionally similar so for the first time about 6 weeks I blobbed tipex on them as specifically had to pick certain ones out for show potential and for dogs for the disabled. Otherwise I wouldn't usually...

Hiya Shell

I texted you last night. I used a piece of wool to identify them for the first few days, just so that we could keep an eye on the smaller couple and relate the notes we made at birth to the individual pups. Once I knew that they were all okay, I removed the wool. They have nothing to identify them now, as they are all a similar weight and there are no problems with any of them.

Hope everything is going well!!

If you did particularly want the bands I have seen them on ebay.

Blue had a tattoo in her ear. I assume done when she was really tiny but I notice in the photos she had a mauve piece of wool around her neck and she was called Rag Doll Mauve (Ragdoll is her Mum).

the litter that diva is from the black pups had red or orange on foot or tail i think its nail varnish tho not sure n the 2 yellows werent marked coz they had one of each sex i would of thought anything round the neck would be dangerous especially once the pups get mobile n are crawling all over each other
