I'm not sure if anyone else has found this with their puppy, but I find it quite comical the way Bella is constantly trying to guess what command I'm going to give when training her.
She will look up at me and before I've given a command she will start guessing what I'm going to say by sitting, going down, sitting and giving paw, standing then down again .. there is no set sequence but she constantly seems to be guessing what command I'm going to give next before she gets her treat I have to give her the wait command before she stops doing this!
She does this when I give the stay command as well, keeps looking at me and sort of flinches in anticipation of my next command.
I would say this, but I sometimes think she's too clever for her own good
You've got one very bright, focussed young lady there. My boy Ross is the same, he doesn't anticpate the command but focusses on me and waits. I almost think he is saying........ I have done that, what's next?
That is a clever lady! Young Pasco is the same! Clicker training is pointless with him. If i get the clicker out, he starts performing his repetoire of tricks like a showman trying to work out what will illicit a click.
A word of caution though this can become a problem so my advice would be to stick to one trick at a time. When she has absoloutely 100% of the time in lots of different situations got it, stop training that and move on to another thing. Only one at a time! Or you will for ever have a dog that waves, lies down, plays dead, sits and stands before you have gotten around to asking her to do something!!!

Sam does that too especially if excited or really hungry! I find it comical so that doesn't help! Fee's right I practiced individual commands and only rewarded the ones I said and also gave names to those he did but no food so good boy sit good boy down when he did them before I asked but then I said the one I wanted and if he did it then food treat iyswim! I also did sequences where he only got the treat at the end and changed the sequences so he had to listen and do the right order to get the treat which helped. Better to be too enthusiastic than not bothered imho!
I would wonder if Bella is not showing very early signs of her ability to 'shape'. Some dogs have it instinctively and our Buddy is a classic example. He loves shaping... he lives for shaping and he just about falls overhimself when we do it.
You can turn it into a wonderfully stimulating exercise for your pup and a very rewarding one for you.
