This was an issue for us too (still is), as younger kids are among the family and get scared to give the pup treats.
What i do is say "take nicely" whenever he takes the treat nice.
If he takes it by biting or similar i say nothing atall or try and with-hold the treat (although thats hard)
He has started to recognise a little what "take nicely" means and doesnt chomp as hard to get the treat.

I`m the same as GT only i use "gently" or "no snatching", CJ has it right most of the time now except when he`s excited, I manage to be able to hold onto one edge of the biscuit most of the time, when he realises he won`t get it if he snatches, he does it right Laughing Laughing

Same with Penny. I also use 'gently'. Works sometimes not others. Need to keep persevering, because at the moment I have to check I still have all my fingers each time she gets a treat!!!

we taught Finley 'Gently' when he was a puppy but made sure we were wearing gloves at the time! We used to feed him pieces of kibble out of each of his meals and if he got 15 gently's in a row, then he would get the rest of his meal straightaway.
