Last time we organised a GT at Formby we didn't have a very big turnout, but the weather wasn't the best so that was understandable.
How about we arrange another for August, and if the weather is horrible we can always postpone it, that way we might get more people show up?
Leanne (Leapudding) took us on a fab walk through the woods then over the dunes to the beach, the dogs had a splash in the very little calm safe waves, and then we dragged them back to the cars kicking and screaming
Here's a link to the GoogleMap and here's a bit about Formby.
Let me know what you all think about this place? We had a ball there and the dogs had an okay day as well

Just reading the other post thinking i'll have to organise Formby again - Ness you've beat me to it!!!!
Stef last time Ness and i went Ozzie must have been about 6-7 months old we did a 30 minute ish walk through the woods and then back along the beach. I'm sure Truffles would be fine as a one off - but we can always do the quick route on to the beach which only takes about 10 mins and spend all of our time down there - this would probably be best if there are quite a few of us - don't want to lose anybody in the woods along the way! Or we could even do short route on to the beach - lots of swimming and nattering and walk back through the woods for those with any energy left and quick walk back for the others!
Harriett whereabouts in manchester are you coming from? - if you can get a train to either liverpool lime street or even better southport - Formby train station is really close by! Hope you can make it.
All of those dates are fine for me so far (sad person that i am). I won't know until nearer the time whether i have my goddaughter but i'm sure she'd love to join us and she is really good at walking, whilst i carry her buggy over the dunes!

Where going to be in south Manchester and yes as long as we can get the train, which we will be able to well be there,
Shannon my 11 yr old said that shed hold your god daughters hand as long as she didnt have to carry the buggy
I only wish she was as helpful to me as she is with everyone else
Stef - Leanne's spot on about the 5-min rule. I took the view that once in a blue moon wouldn't crippple Ozzie, so we did the walk thru the woods to the beach when he was 8 months... but again, if you'd prefer not to then there's plenty of options for getting straight to the beach without the forest walk.
Leanne - sorry I beat you to it hon!! I was having a bit of an organisational day hehehe
MM - First time I went to Formby I caught the train to Formby (connections from Liverpool or Southport) and walked - but the walk over the dunes to the beach isn't wheelie-friendly I'm sure that closer to the time we can work out someone to meet you at Formby station and drive you the mile or so to St Lukes, save having to walk so far just to get to the start of the walk Hurry up and learn to drive woman!
Yikes hubby just called I forgot to go pick him up from work!! Oops Be back later
