Went to Dumfries this morning with Mhairi and a couple of the dogs.
Breagha (Velvetine Humour) took first place in her class.
Toby (Velvetine Star Light) took first place in his class.
Breagha won Best of Breed.
A poor showing on the lab front but well worth the trip for the results above.

Well done on the two first and BOB. I dont know why the shows dont seem to be particularly well attended at the moment, particularly the open shows, its such a shame, maybe its costs (petrol ect) and some cant afford to do champ and open so somethings got to give ?
I try to support the local shows and the lab classes are ok, we dont seem to do very well in the groups though, I always feel the labs just seems plain (when clearly they aren't )
I am new to the show scene and, at the moment, have been going to loads with Mhairi (Velvetine) as her 'show slave'.
It is such a shame that some of these shows are not well attended as they are an ideal venue for new people starting out. I am getting a puppy in Sept and, hopefully, will start showing in Dec/Jan (all being well).

Congrats to Mhairi - how do you manage to attend shows and have lots of puppies - you are wonderwoman!!!!
Well done also to your lovely labs. x
Alyson - if any of the labs around your way are like mine atm - they are not good enough for showing cos they are naked - or in bra and panties
I know that a lot of labs are out of coat at the moment, but it seems like so many don't even enter their labs for these open shows. It doesn't matter if you don't show up, for whatever reason, but if you still enter then the classes will still take place. It only costs a few pounds for entry. Mhairi had entered Solo and Rhanna aswell who are both on maternity duty at the moment. The judge thanked Mhairi after the show for entering the mumber of labs that she did. Otherwise when people like myself, who are new to showing, are ready to start there will be no classes at open shows to enter.
I'll get off my soapbox now.

Jackie I aint no wonderwoman..................just bloomen knackered
had to go to show as I had the trophies to take back from last year, Toby won them then by betting Breagha so it was sort of like pay back time lol
there was four entered in the first class and two of them where mine
and five in the second class and again two of them where mine
so in total there was nine labs in the breed classes and one other in the Gundog puppy class, which won it by the way and so was best gundog puppy .........whoopeee
well done also to Xena as she had her youngster there and got a second and a third
now I am going to take a well earned rest and sleep ( I right) for as long as I can..............hhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmm sleeeeeeeep

Oooh - I have seen things going more the other way - the Open shows recently have been consistently quite well attended - whereas the champ show numbers seem to have dwindled
