Just want to say that Ive been using a Furminater on Bailey for approx 6 months and it's the best thing I've ever bought!

Its cut down the fur in the house by at least 80% and his coat is wonderful. In the summer I pop it in my pocket when going for a walk and give him a 5 minute brush daily in the woods so it was part of his routine. As soon as he saw it coming out he'd sit and wait for me to finish!

I could have stuffed a duvet with the first brush he had with it and I havent looked back since. Now as its autumn I take it just once or twice a week which is fine - but I do recommend taking it on a walk as Bailey thinks it part of his fun and the fur is left in the woods for the birds to use as nesting. It also gets it part of your routine

I bought the medium sized (blue) which suits him and the cats fine

If you havent got one yet - buy one and prepare to be amazed just how much excess fur you'll collect

Oh just remembered - a part I overlooked on Bailey was either side of his tail and down a bit I suppose youd' call them haunches? As his coat always looked neat there I'd never bother to Furminate --- last week I combed there and almost a bag full of fur came out

Buy one and I'm sure you wont look back - but make sure its done as routine and you'll notice just how much fur free your home and clothes are

Hi everyone - am new to using this, however thought that I would share my views on the furminator - it's excellent!! I bought mine from a company call Muddy Paws on the web - I think their website was www.muddypaws.co.uk - they were really helpful and had loads of good quality stuff for Olly on there Very Happy

I am pleased to see so many are pleased with the Furminator. I don't know what it is with our Marley but he doesn't seem to mault and we hardly ever use it.

Indi however is another story Shocked

I can also recommend the Mars Coat King - especially for long haired dogs - it is fab for Indi.

You need to be a bit more careful with the coat king since it "cuts" the undercoat rather than "pulls" it out but it is a fantastic tool - to be honest, if you have a long haired dog, I would recommend this over the furminator but you need to ensure you get the correct size.

I have a furminator for Tia, and it is great. The ordinary mikki rake and brush were just kind of brushing the top coat and takking out a few loose hairs and I would end up with more hairs laying on her back than I had took out, and she hated it.

With the furminator, I do brush gently, and I have got loads of hair, I only do her once a week and she does not mind it at all.

Best thing I have ever bought.

I got mine today and used it on Ivor and I could have filled a cushion and Im sure I could have kept going I was a bit worried I would take off too much .........

this might sound stupid but can you furminate too much?
