Anyone used one of these?

http://www.furminator.com/

Please note it may take a few secs to load as there is a video demonstration to the right of the screen when loaded.

Are shedding blades as good as these?

I have just clicked on demos on the site and it seems much better than the shedding blade. I think I may get one of these but would be interested to know if anyone has one Smile

I don't have one but I would be very interested to find out if they are more effective than a shedding blade, as my three are all blowing their coats AGAIN.....3rd time this year. Rolling Eyes

If you click on "demos" (middle link at top bar) and then click on the bottom right corner video demo with the black dog, she tries different methods of getting the coat out - and leaves the furminator until last and it gets the most out!

I cant keep up with Doobies hairloss at the mo - the Furminator looks good but its very pricey for what is really just a fancy comb. But if it really does work.................

It is not really a comb from what they say, it has been designed to cut the dead undercoat while leaving the topcoat intact.

For £20 I think it is worth it and I am going to invest in one. When you consider this amount over the life of the dog, it only works out at around £1.50 a year LOL

The small one will do I think since that is all the woman is using in the GR video.

Looks really good. Can't seem to keep up with Truffs hair loss at the mo - all she has to do is move and she scatters it everwhere!

Couldn`t find the UK price on there, seemed like a US site, it does look really good compared to a shedding blade, but she`s doing a GR which has a longer coat then a Lab, so wonder if its really necassary for a Lab?

I've got the furminator and think it's great. Only got it about 2 wks ago to use on my black lab, Tia. The 1st time i used it i could have filled a cushion with all the fluff that came off her!! And i'm sure Tia felt 'cooler' afterwards too.
