Well, we think things May be starting to happen!! It's now day 61, We have been taking Xsaras temp 3 times a day since sunday which has been consistant at 100.2, This morning she has taken a bit of a drop to 99.6. Reading the book of the bitch, it tells you that temp drop may be as low as 99 or even 97 for a few hours to indicate that whelping will occur in the next 24 hours. Has xsara had enough of a drop in her temp? are we waiting for a drop which is just lower for heror should it be REALLY significant? basically we're just trying to find other breeders experiences on this subject!!

This could be it!!! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy I must admit I'm very bad and never take the temperature on any of my pregnant bitches Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes I keep an eye on the bitches behavior as this is a certain tell tell sign. The one that had her pups 11 days ago, becomes restless, likes to dig a hole in the garden, likes to be very close to you and listens out for every single noise in the house. All these signs are there only a few hours before she's about to go into labor...

Best of luck with the birth Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Enjoy this miracle - I still get overwhelmed each time...

I never take temperatures either - mine have so far all given plenty of warning by their behaviour.

Panting is generally one of the main signs; one of mine doesn't scratch at all - just sits there placidly and puffs away like a train for 12 hours Laughing

Good luck for a busy weekend! Very Happy

I'd have thought it bit more of a temp drop yet, Molly's dropped by 2 degrees F before she started the panting

Maybe once she has dropped to below 99, although I would be keeping a close eye on her now if I were you

I think this is going to be a long night!! She has (within the last hour) started to pant pretty heavily, no bed tearing or anything - she has spent the majority of the day sleeping!! one minute she wants a cuddle the next shes hiding (ostrich style Laughing ) totally refusing food, even really tasty bits!

I never take temperatures either but send all my best wishes and 'godspeeds' to those little wigglers in there for a safe and straightforward whelping Wink
