Saturday, we decided, was a good day to go and visit some of the waterfalls in the area. We got north of Perth and then the really heavy rain started. We almost turned back home, but glad we didn't!
First stop was the Birks of Aberfeldy - photos of the various waterfalls along the walk.
Looking down as a side fall meets the main river
Peekaboo!
The biggy - Falls of Moness
Soggy OH and pup!
Next stop was the Falls of Acharn by Loch Tay - one of the first walks we ever did on our first holiday up here.. and I found it a lot easier to get up the steep track this time around lol
Corbie in the Hermit's Cave - it was pitch black in here (couldn't see anything without the camera flash) and you have to walk through it to get to the viewing platform... I made Corbie go first, and he wasn't that keen
Very heavy rain approaches us along Loch Tay, we got soaked!
Next it was on to Rumbling Bridge which is just up from The Hermitage near Dunkeld.
Water gushes down the gorge and under the bridge
As you can see, the river was very high, fast and powerful!
Have to be positive, we wouldn't have these lovely waterfalls without the rain

It takes about an hour/hour and half, just depends on stopping times for admiring all the waterfalls! It gets quite steep about halfway up for a bit, have to go up a few wooden steps. I took my parents there the first time they came up, forgetting how steep it got and mum struggled a bit lol
We always go up the way which crosses over the wooden bridge first as you see the falls better than way, the other way you can't see much so is better for coming down.
Once you get to the main fall, which a bridge goes over, it's then downhill all the way. We extend the walk and come back via a small road rather than the track by the falls.
