Do they all do this?!

Truly is insistant on tipping her water bowl over across the kitchen floor about 5 times a day!

She gets totally over excited by it and rolls through the puddle she has made. I have to put her in her crate whilst I mop it up or she attacks the mop Rolling Eyes

She is water crazy. She rolled in a great big deep mud puddle at Upnor today, had everyone there in fits, she was literally up to her ears, and loved it. She crys to get in the bath with the boys, and was sooo happy when we bathed her the other day.

I tell her No when she sticks her paws in the bowl and I know what she is going to do, but she doesnt care, she just does it anyway wagging her tail then rolling every where lol!

She did the same at pets at home, they cleaned it up and then on the way out she nearly drank the whole lot then tipped the rest over again Embarassed

Ben has a habbit of picking his water bowel up and taking it to the garden, which would be ok but by the time hes got to the garden all the water is on my kitchen floor, we have tried putting a bowel out there for him but nope he wants the one from the kitchen!

Laughing Laughing Oh the joys of water babies Laughing Laughing

Becs had a good tip...that was to put the water bowl on a towel inside low cat litter tray, that way most of the water stayed in one place and got mopped up at the same time....I might have to try that one with my next pup...I just used to only put a tiny amount of water in the bowl several times a day and keep the mop handy. Rolling Eyes

I think Truely really needs a nice paddling pool all of her own. Wink

Nope, you're certainly not alone. On her first HOUR home, Ruby discovered the joys of "digging" in her water bowl to tip the water onto the ground, then lay in the wet mess Laughing

She constantly did this at puppy pre-school too, embarrassed her poor mother Embarassed Laughing

Here's the evidence from her first day home:

I have seen that you can get very wide bottomed ceramic bowls which are shaped something like a cone without a point at the top. They look very heavy, so probably wouldn't be easily tipped over. Mason Cash do some. Something like the one at the top of this page perhaps:

They certainly look sturdy anyway.

Helen.

Harry used to do it.
I bought a wide bowl with sloping sides (like a Spaniel bowl) but all he did was put his front paws in it, it didn't tip over though.
Eventually he stopped.

Very Happy

We have the Mason Cash ceramic ones and so far no 'tipping over' so can highly recommend! We got them from our local pet shop - I think they are pretty commonplace and fairly inexpensive.

All the best,
Nic & The Boys!
