I am very proud of my brave blind boy Zonks.

When he first came to us is was so afraid to walk anywhere and he was afraid of traffic noise we couldn't even get him out the front door as he couldn't tell how far the step down was.

He has become so brave and trusting over the lat month that now he jumps around when he hears the lead for walkies and sits patiently for me to put his hoop on but then rushes out he door as soon as it's open and leaps off the step that he used to be paralysed with fear at. He walks to heal to his park and doesn't even cower at the traffic when we have to walk along the high street (unless it's a double decker bus but then he just leans against me for comfort and guidance but keeps walking).

OH and I built him a 'seeing eye hoop' the plans of which we got off the Pepe the blind dog web site.

Since he's had his hoop, Zonks has become more and more confident and some times the cheeky so and so will purposely crash into us with his hoop to either push us in the direction he wants to go or simply to enjoy being 'boinged' backwards from the hoop squashing into the back of my flabby legs Embarassed

here are some photos of Zonks in his hoop Very Happy

What a great idea that is!!, no wonder he has so much confidence now, he knows he`s not going hit himself on anything, unless of course its the back of your legs Laughing Laughing

Good to hear Zonks is doing so well for you, you should be proud of yourselves with all the hard work you had getting him over here, he`s one lucky boy and knows it I`m sure Very Happy

Aw what a lovely story and such a good "ending" Very Happy does he wear his hoop all the time? If not, does he know when he's got it on or off? Sorry just questions that popped in my head...!
