Sorry lsion I had no intent to offend or belittle the efforts made in some good charities to keep it simple and 'for the dogs'. I think we both know sadly some make it a lot more complicated than that from the RSPCA down to the humble breed rescue that we discuss for hours in KSS committee.....
I know your rescue (LRSE&C) does a superb job, i wasn't for a second branding everyone like that - i did say 'some'.... maybe not enough times to say how much it IS 'some' (superb) and 'some' (painfully political)....

I would definitely support rescue shelters in my area.
I got my last dog, Rosie, from Animals in Need in Melling (they were in Lydiate then) and I would love to be able to set up a sort of trust fund to provide a monthly source of income for them. Same applies to the Lab Rescue. I think it would be wonderful if they knew that they were going to receive a set amount each month so they wouldn't be constantly scrimping around for money for vet bills etc.
I don't think I could ever run a centre though. I'd be asking people for references before I would hand a dog over to them.
I would love to be able to run a rescue centre, but would not be able to cope with the heartache of seeing the suffering some of the poor souls go through So I would definitley like to be able offer huge sums of financial support and perhaps getting a house with plenty of land so that I could foster a few doggies.
